Bernadette Huber

I am a PhD student at the School of Communication and Arts researching how undergraduate students emotionally experience academic writing throughout their degree. My PhD project was inspired by my experience as an academic writing mentor and tutor in Vienna and at UQ where I witnessed how strong and ambivalent students feel about writing at university. Through my research, I hope to find out how academic writing, which is such a central aspect of higher education, can be a positive and enriching experience for everyone. 

Writing, learning, and questions of equity were also at the centre of my work as a language teacher and previous studies of Comparative Literature (BA) and German as a Foreign and Second Language (MA) at the University of Vienna in Austria. 

My supervisors are Dr Beck Wise (Communication and Arts), Dr Kate Power (Business), and Dr Peter Crosthwaite (Languages and Cultures).
