Researcher biography

Leila is an Accredited Practising Dietitian and PhD candidate at the University of Queensland. Her research is investigating how to create sustainable and positive food environments for Queensland primary schools, through the implementation of a Health and Wellbeing Queensland program called Pick of the Crop.

Leila completed a Master of Dietetics Studies in 2020 and a Bachelor of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences in 2018.  She has experience with working as a Research Assistant at Health and Wellbeing Queensland which in addition to her academic endeavours and private practice work, have sparked interests in food sustainability and health promotion; more specifically working with children and families to empower them to make dietary and lifestyle changes that are conducive to their individual and collective wellbeing.
