Chiara Carnevali

Researcher biography
Chiara graduated in 2012 with a Bachelor degree in Biotechnologies, and in 2015 with a Master degree in Industrial Biotechnologies at University of Parma, in Italy, her home country. During her studies, she worked on mitochondrial diseases, using yeast as a model organism.
After her Master degree, she became research assistant at IZSLER (Lombardy and Emilia Romagna Experimental Zootechnic Institute, Parma, Italy), where she improved her microbiology knowledge working on antimicrobial resistance, especially in Salmonella.
In 2017, she gained an international scholarship at University of Queensland and moved to Brisbane to begin her PhD in microbiology. Now she is a PhD student in the Tuberculosis Research Laboratory.
