Researcher biography

Ms. Yawei Jiang is a PhD student at UQ Business School (UQBS) at the University of Queensland. She graduated from Sun Yat-Sen University in 2014 with a Bachelor degree in Management, and graduated with a BIHTM Honours (Class I) degree from UQ with a research focus on stakeholder collaboration in tourism crisis/disaster management (TCDM). Her current PhD research focuses on how to improve tourism organisations and businesses’ interaction with the changing global environment (e.g. economic crisis and natural disasters) by looking at the development and deployment of dynamic capabilities in the tourism industry. Her research interests include strategic management in TCDM, organisational recovery and resilience in managing environmental uncertainties, and risk communication strategies for tourism destinations. She has published several academic articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as book chapters in the relevant field. She also works as the administrative assistant for the UQBS psycho-physiological research laboratory and have helped with several projects that collect data from eye tracking, skin conductance, and electromyography. She aims to build her research career in crisis/disaster management field and further develop her research skills and contributions through collaboration across disciplines.
