Ebony is a PhD candidate at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, University of Queensland. Her research focuses on the use of machine learning, genomics and bioimage informatics to investigate biological heterogeneity, particularly in the context of human ageing and age-associated diseases. Ebony is interested in extracting quantitative biological information from histology and microscopy images, which can be integrated with data such as gene expression, protein abundance and DNA methylation for analysis. This enables us to investigate the effect of decline and heterogeneity in cell function on ageing and disease from a new perspective, hopefully leading to potential treatments.
Ebonys principal advisor is Associate Professor Jessica Mar.
