Understanding market and governance opportunities to improve the wellbeing of smallholder farmers in citrus value chain

Project opportunity

This Earmarked Scholarship project is aligned with a recently awarded Category 1 research grant. It offers you the opportunity to work with leading researchers and contribute to large projects of national significance.

The project aims to apply the value chain approach of agricultural development to enable sustained improvement in the well-being of smallholder citrus families in Pakistan’s main citrus growing region, through their participation in inclusive value chains that meet market needs and provide equitable returns. The successful candidate will adopt a systems-based value chain approach to understand market and governance opportunities and pathways that enable smallholders to create and capture value originating from the delivery of market-defined quality attributes in target markets through their practices involving production, postharvest, and marketing systems.
